About
Salt therapy has been around for over a century. In 1839, a Polish physician noticed a phenomenon with his patients working in mines. Although miners generally experienced numerous health risks, salt miners rarely got sick and were unusually healthy. He discovered that chiseling and grinding the salt into microparticles was very beneficial when inhaled – it helped keep lungs free from infection and allergies. Inspired by his observations, he established the first salt spa in Poland. People from all over the world started to visit the spa and inhale salty air to ease their lung problems.
Over time, this practice evolved into what we now know as Halotherapy. Halotherapy is the practice of breathing in dry air infused with medical grade sodium chloride crystals which have been put through a halogenerator. The crystals of salt have a diameter less than 3 µm with the air temperature between 68-72 F and a relative humidity between 40-60%. The end-concentration of the salt in the air of the room is between 10-30 mg/m(3) which allows the particles to penetrate all layers of the respiratory tract and inhibits the growth of bacteria.

Our salon concierge will go over any questions you might have.
